About
About Me
I’m Tobi Balogun, an LNG analyst.
I study the liquefied natural gas industry end-to-end: upstream supply, liquefaction projects, shipping and chartering, regasification, and downstream demand. My work focuses on turning messy market signals — freight rates, spot prices, project FIDs, weather patterns — into clear, actionable analysis.
What I Write About
- Market analysis — spot/delivered prices, arb spreads between basins (Atlantic ↔ Pacific), and JKM/TTF/Henry Hub dynamics
- LNG shipping — charter rates, tonnage supply, and voyage economics
- Projects & contracts — new liquefaction capacity, FIDs, SPA activity, and contract length trends
- Demand fundamentals — regas capacity in Europe & Asia, weather-driven pull, substitution economics vs coal and renewables
